Scars

What is the first thing you think of when you hear the word “scar”? When I initially think of a scar, I think “unsightly and to be avoided or minimized by all means possible”. It’s all about the aesthetic these days! But a scar, upon deeper pondering I’m realizing, is proof that you went through something painful and are still alive. It marked you but it didn’t destroy you!

Scar?

Don’t let the battle wounds of this life make you feel insecure or less worthy. Instead wear them confidently as a strong warrior and survivor! Each scar adds to your depth as a person and strengthens your testimony. Your testimony is so important because that is apart of how the ultimate battle is won! We overcome this life by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of our testimony.

Scars are precious because:

  • They can serve as reminders
  • They may be a lesson learned
  • They are a testimony to share- even Jesus’ resurrected body still bears the scars of the cross

Some scars are obviously worse than others but all tell a story and are apart of growing pains of life. Not to mention the scars on our hearts and minds. These are undoubtedly more ugly and damaging than physical scars, although not visible to the eyes. The good news is that that the Lord who made each of our hearts sees and heals the inner wounds and understands exactly what we are going through (Psalm 33:15 and 147:3).

The theme song for this blog post! So fitting and I love it!
